You can now get half price entry to loads of theme parks if you show you’re recycling
25 July 2018

What are two of the most objectively ‘good’ things on this old planet earth of ours? Why, recyclingand rollercoasters, of course!

And now these two excellent things are colliding in a beautiful moment that’ll send eco-friendly thrillseekers into a real flutter.

Starting on Wednesday, you can get 50% off some of the UK’s most popular attractions by recycling any 500ml plastic bottle.

Here’s everything you need to know…

How does it work?

All you have to do is recycle one or more of your empty plastic bottles at a Coca Cola reverse vending machine to receive a 50%-off voucher. Then take your voucher to the park’s ticket office and claim your discounted entry.

You can find the machines at Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures or Legoland Windsor.

Which parks are involved?

Although you can only find the recycling machines at the above four parks, you can use your voucher at Alton Towers Resort, Chessington, Thorpe Park, Warwick Castle, Shrek’s Adventure! London, Legoland Windsor, Legoland Discovery Centres Birmingham and Manchester, Madame Tussauds London or Blackpool, The London, York, Edinburgh or Blackpool Tower Dungeons, The Blackpool Tower Eye, The Blackpool Tower Circus, The Coca-Cola London Eye or Nationwide SeaLife Centres.

How long is the offer available for?

At the moment they’re trialling this incentive for the summer when the parks are at their busiest, between 25 July and 31 August 2018. But you can redeem your voucher for a few months after that. Find the full list here.

Are there any downsides?

Each voucher is valid for one person only, for one attraction. Plus, you can’t use your voucher to pre-book online – they’re valid for walk-up prices only.

Sandra Hazel, from Merlin Entertainments, said: “We’re constantly looking for ways to raise awareness and help contribute to a better environment. As a responsible business and an advocate for marine conservation, we’re pleased to be joining forces with Coca-Cola Great Britain to encourage people to recycle more this summer, by rewarding them with family fun.”
