The Hotel Staffed Entirely By Robots

Good news for those of you who cannot deal with human interaction: your perfect hotel is opening in Japan.

The Henn-na Hotel is due to launch this summer and will feature a staff of 10 robots, programmed to perform all required duties, including checking-in guests, carrying bags, cleaning, and even a little light conversation in any of the four languages in which they are fluent: Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and English.

It also has several other high-tech features, including the use of facial recognition to open rooms, radiation panels to detect body heat in rooms and adjust the temperature accordingly, and solar panels to keep energy costs down.

The hotel, located within a Dutch-inspired theme park in Nagasaki called Huis Ten Bosch, will have 72 rooms over two structures. Prices range from a single rooms at $60 (£40) a night, to $153 (£101) for a triple.

We can't help but feel Alan Partridge predicted this many years ago: "Tea or coffee? Tea or coffee?"

Take a look at some proposed images below; it's due to open on July 17th.
