

In a film where a man's journey to happiness is signposted by a meal at Papa John's, a dating profile at eHarmony and a delicious snack at Cinnabon, product placement was as important a character as Walter Mitty himself.
It's therefore no surprise that Ben Stiller's The Secret Life of Walter Mitty has won the award for Worst Product Placement at the annual Product Placement Awards. As well as the previously mentioned brands. the film also features references to KFC, McDonald's, Nikon and Heineken.
The brand "winner" this year was Budweiser who won for Overall Product Placement, sneaking into films such as Don Jon and Star Trek Into Darkness.
Other films mentioned included Pain & Gain which won for Most Product Placement in a Single Film, with 39 brands in all, while Philomena won for Product Placement in an Oscar-nominated Film, thanks to the frequent references to Guinness.
Anchorman 2 picked up an award for Best Off-Screen Supporting Product while, unsurprisingly, The Internship picked up Best Role in a Supporting Product Placement for it's Google storyline.
