Did you see A Quiet Place? Was good, wasn’t it? All scary and creepy and silent and that? A movie about monsters that eat you if you make a sound? That’s a high concept done right, no mistake.
So what’s the opposite of that? Well, it’s a movie about monsters who eat you if you see them, isn’t it? And thankfully, there’s a movie that is about exactly that, and it’s called Bird Box, and it’s heading to Netflix, and it’s got Sandra Bullock in it, and it is all about blindfolds.
The story follows a cataclysmic worldwide event that wipes out a huge chunk of the population - creepy monster-thingies manifest themselves into your worst fear if you look at them, driving you to suicide. As such, Sandra Bullock and her two kids set off to find safety, only they’ve got to do it blindfolded. Another fantastic high concept, TICK!
Here’s the trailer:
The films stars Bullock, Sarah Paulson and John Malkovich and is directed by Susanne Bier (In A Better World, The Night Manager), taking the original novel of the same name by Josh Malerman as basis.
LOOKS REET GOOD DON’T IT? You’ll be able to find out if it actually is come December 21 when it hits Netflix.
