If David Lynch Directed Return Of The Jedi

If David Lynch Directed Return Of The Jedi

Utterly preposterous fact for you, here. Back in 1981, George Lucas asked David Lynch to direct Return Of The Jedi.

Naturally, the bequiffed auteur rebuffed the chance to take charge of the original trilogy’s final chapter, leaving many of us to wonder just how a bizarre collaboration like that might have turned out.

Well now we know – sort of – as one clever fan, known as C-SPIT, has given the sci-fi classic an altogether Lynchian vibe: backwards speaking Yoda, singing alien nightclub, sandscapes to match those of Dune – it's all creepily packed in to marvelous effect.

Forget Blue VelvetBlue Harvest is what we were really after.
