If you stumble across one of these in the forest, don't be alarmed. It's not the start of an alien invasion.
This UFO-shaped domicile is in fact a Dom’Up treehouse, the ultimate woodland hideaway.
The Dom’Up offers glamping, but is designed with the welfare of the forest in mind.
Unlike run-of-the-mill treehouses, the octagonal cabin can be securely fastened in place without causing damage to the trees themselves.
The cabin-slash-tent offers 16 square meters of space, and can be erected in two days, requiring just two trees for support. There is a waterproof roof, canvas walls and an open area that serves as a balcony, meaning you can sleep inside or out, depending on the weather.
Plus, if you fall out with your camping-partner, you can always kick them out and draw up the ladder. Bonus.
The Dom'Up costs around £18,000, and is available from Belgian design company Trees & People.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
