Philip K. Dick's classic dystopian novel The Man In The High Castle has reportedly found its lead for the forthcoming TV adaptation, in the form of Alexa Davalos.
According to Deadline, the star of Clash of the Titans, Mob City, Defiance and The Mist, has been lined up for the role of Juliana, hot on the heels of Luke Kleintank being cast as Joe Blake.
The Amazon TV series, originally planned as a four-hour miniseries, will be produced by Ridley Scott with David Semel (Legends/My Own Worst Enemy) directing and The X-Files Frank Spotnitz writing the pilot.
Surprisingly, it is the first adaptation of the legendary novel, written in 1962 and depicting an alternate vision of the world; that which would have arisen had the Axis powers of Germany, Italy and Japan won the Second World War. In the adaptation, the character of Juliana lives in San Francisco, a Japanese-controlled area, where a brutal murder of a family member sets her on a path of rebellion and danger.
The original novel won a Hugo Award and has become hugely influential in the Sci-Fi world; the pilot is due to air sometime in 2015.
