We're not sure who's going to make the movie about the Sony hacking saga (probably Sony), but a new chapter has just been added to the ongoing furore surrounding studio's decision to axe the theatrical release of The Interview.
Secret Cinema has added its voice to protests surrounding the cancellation of Seth Rogen and James Franco's comedy with an announcement that it will hold one-off simultaneous screenings of a yet to be revealed film.
In an effort to stand against the "threat of censorship", the film events group will partner with the London-based human rights organisation Article 19 to hold special screenings of an unknown film in East London, Rome and San Diego on 21 December.
"Secret Cinema calls out for people across the world to host their own screening," says the event's page. "To protest against the attack on freedom of expression that the threats against screenings of The Interview represents, Secret Cinema is staging a special one off Secret Screening with all proceeds from the show going to global free speech charity Article 19."
As for a hint on the film's identity, Secret Cinema has given the following cryptic clue: "We ask all to wear dark suits and bring a small gift to give to a stranger." Blues Brothers? The Matrix? Let us know your best guess in the comments below. To attend the screening, you can buy a ticket for £25 here from 16:00.
