New World's Hottest Pie?

New World's Hottest Pie?

New World's Hottest Pie?

"Hot-hot or spicy hot?" Something that gets asked around dinner tables with peculiar regularity. But if it's a pie you're eating, it's inevitably "hot-hot".

Not with this one. The Flaming Ron is awaiting word from The Guinness Book Of Records on whether it's the world's spiciest pie.

The brainchild of chef Ron Bruns it's made from two of the world's hottest chillies - the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T pepper. But that's not enough, he also packs the pie with 'viper' chillies, the world's second hottest, and a handful of habaneros.

One seed from a scorpion rates at 1.4 million Scoville units and is 300 times hotter than a jalapeno.

The pie comes with a genuine health warning and the baker wears protective clothing to make it. A waiver you must sign before eating reads: "some problems may occur several days after the consumption of this product".

"I am aware that this product contains the hottest known ingredients on planet Earth which could lead to stress to the heart, asthma attacks and other problems."
