All we've ever wanted is our own, real, lightsaber and the world's scientists have so far miserably failed to make it happen.

But fortunately, the good people at Farnell have grown tired of hanging around, and decided to crack on themselves, providing this handy guide for you and I to make our own. Unfortunately - and we hate to break it to you - it's not quite as good as the ones in the movies, being as it's made of real Earth stuff and thus not capable of chopping people in half. But it'll look incredibly cool nonetheless: follow these step-by-step instructions, and you'll be battling your friends before you know it.
