Fantastic Album Cover GIFs

The 12 inch vinyl album cover is one of the art world's greatest canvases - but even that has its limitations, namely the fact that it's a static image.

However, Tumblr user JB has decided to drag the album cover into the 21st Century, by turning famous examples into fantastically inventive gifs. On a rolling blog, he's converted a host of iconic record sleeves into clever moving images.

Perhaps the gif should be the digital album cover of the future? Music industry, you can have that one for free.

Check out our favourite 20 below, and for many more, head to JB's Tumblr.
