Here's what you missed from San Diego's Comic-Con, including Star Wars & Suicide Squad

Heroes. Villains. Capes. A vast Choir.

While most of us were lost to our preferred Friday night festivities, a deluge of super-related trailers unleashed itself upon the cosplay masses of San Diego's Comic-Con.

As we'd hate for you to miss out on this glut of pop culture, we've assembled the best leaks, teasers and spoilers from the geek-fest. Strap in.

Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice

Choirs. That's the overriding (or underscoring) feature of the latest glimpse of Zack Snyder's all-DC clash.

Revealed to a cacophony of whoops, the new trailer for Batman vs Superman looks to put some flesh on the project's grand bones - converting a great deal of our scepticism to genuine excitement. It would appear that all that building destruction that took place in 2013's Man of Steel saw Superman gain an unwanted foe - a certain millionaire named Bruce Wayne. Queue costume montages and the yet-to-be-understood arrival of Wonder Woman.

Fantastic Four

Yep - the trailer that we've already seen because the internet leaked it a month early.

Following the origins of the fantastical (and unpopular?) four, Warner Bros. is lining this up as a much darker take on 2005 effort, with Doctor Doom the central villain.

We're yet to be convinced.

Suicide Squad

One of the lesser-known bands of DC characters, the Suicide Squad trailer has some serious promise to it.

Agent Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) amasses a band of some of the most dangerous incarcerated criminals to carry out operations the US government can't be seen to be involved in. We're not going to pretend we know anything about the Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Deadshot (Will Smith), Rick Flagg (Joel Kinnaman) or Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), but Margot Robbie looks superbly sinister as Harely Quinn, and Jared Leto's Joker is ticking all the right unbalanced boxes.

Deadpool

Yes, it's a leak. No, it's not a very good one. But if you want your first glimpse of Ryan Reynold's R-rated superhero flick, it's the best we've got.

Set to take superhero films into uncharted adult waters, Deadpool's character is amongst the most refreshingly self-aware of the comic universe. A hero with untold healing abilities and combat skills, his capacity to take a beating is matched only by his skills of delivering lethal one-liners.

Your move, Marvel.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens reel

While not strictly a trailer, the 'behind the scenes' reel dropped by J J Abrams & co is filled with enough knowing nudges and fanboy references to convert even the most sceptical Episode VII denier.

From the miniaturised models to the ensemble of masked aliens, it's a little bit of something old with a great big chunk of exciting new tricks. Don't pretend you didn't smile all the way through.

Ash vs The Evil Dead

Ash is back.

No, not the kid from Pokémon. Bruce Campbell straps his chainsaw back on as the beloved Ash Williams for a serialised sequel series to 1981's The Evil Dead.

The evil forces of the titular franchise have managed to find Ash, plunging his quiet, trailer park life back into the gore-soaked antics of the classic films. Walking Dead this is not.
