Good news to all those who have missed out on Cobra Kai, thanks to YouTube putting it behind its streaming paywall, you will be able to watch the Karate Kid spin-off soon.
YouTube's generosity is a massive change to its streaming model. Currently its shows are all hidden within its YouTube Premium service - this is a mishmash of original content and its music streaming service. In short: it's all a little bit confusing, which is not good when you are trying to compete with the likes of Netflix and Disney+.
- The best Disney+ shows announced so far.
To lessen the confusion, YouTube (for a limited time) will be making some its shows available for free. Well, ad funded but that's as good as free in our eyes.
Speaking about what is a massive about-turn for YouTube, its chief business officer Robert Kyncl explained: “Today, we are welcoming a global audience to enjoy our award-winning series and specials.
“We see a tremendous opportunity to develop more region-specific content, particularly in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and will continue to partner with the biggest stars and creators in the world to share their stories and voices.”
Given this is happening just before the launch of Disney+, we are putting two and two together and coming up with the fact that YouTube wants to shout about its TV shows, too.
And so it should - Cobra Kai is one of the best TV shows that you aren't watching right now and really should be.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
