You'll definitely want to catch Studio Ghibli's new Amazon Prime series

Ah, Studio Ghibli, the animation house who make the stuff you wish you saw on the backs of your eyelids whenever you close them, instead of the dull darkness of sleep. They pop up with a film every once few years, filling your otherwise grey and stressful life with two hours of serenely vivid bliss, and just like the best dreams, they seem to be over before they've really begun. But, fortunately for you greedy people, they've made a 26-episode animated series which is getting an English-language release and will be available on Amazon Prime later this year.

Ronja the Robber's Daughter is based on a book by the Swedish author Astrid Lingren, an author who Studi Ghibli has had a long-running obsession with. Founder Hayao Miyazaki was unable to convince the Lingren to allow him to adapt Pippi Longstocking in the Seventies, but his son Goro Miyazaki will get the chance forty years later as he takes on the directorial reins for the series.

Ronja the Robber's Daughter is, fairly self-explanatorily, about the daughter of a clan of Scandinavian thieves, who live in luscious green woodlands full of magic and mysticism. We can continue explaining it, but we know you really just want to watch the trailer to get yourself excited.
