World Cup Bid: Will England win?

As the country is carpeted on snow, perhaps now would be a good time to paint a giant red line from Norwich to Telford and one from Portsmouth to Newcastle. Take a quick snap with one of those clever satellite thingummies and drop it on the desks of all the voting FIFA bods. It would show we're keen, eh?

Today, indeed, is judgement day. The result of the England World Cup bid 2018. And although readers in Scotland and Wales may not have quite as much enthusiasm (although many do) England feels expectant.

And why wouldn't we? Harry Potter star Rupert Grint has backed the bid. Half the work is done!

Meanwhile in Zurich England's pitch has gone very well indeed. The result is expected at 3pm. In the mean time we will be bringing you the highlights and are keen on your thoughts. Let us know in the comments below.
