Toy Story was cute and heart-warming and all that stuff, but for our money it didn’t feature nearly enough class-A drugs, foul language or graphic violence.
Which is why we’re so damn excited for Seth Rogen’s Sausage Party, which we can only describe as Toy Story on bath salts.
It goes like this: supermarket foodstuffs are actually sentient characters who all clamour to get chosen by shoppers. Little do they know, however, that when they’re brought home, they’ll soon be chopped and burnt alive in aid of their owner’s dinner.
Seth Rogen describes it as “one sausage leading a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they become chosen to leave the grocery store,” and the cast includes comedy cohorts Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Bill Hader, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson, Paul Rudd, Nick Kroll, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton and Salma Hayek.
Laugh so hard that you make the rest of the office feel awkward by watching the horrifically hilarious trailer above.
