5.25 seconds.
Just think about what you can achieve in that space of time. Not a lot really. Maybe pulling on a sock, or writing an incredibly short text message. Definitely not solve a Rubik’s cube, and yet, somehow, Colin Burns, a prolific (teenage) Rubik’s cuber has done just that.
Taking part in the final round of the annual Rubik’s cube competition held at Central Bucks West High School in Pennsylvania, Burns literally burned every single person there to shave 0.3 seconds from the previous record set by Mat Valk in 2013.
Managing to not only solve the world’s most endearingly frustrating puzzles in a super fast time, but also make us question everything great and good we've ever achieved in our own lives, in just 5.25 seconds, his efforts mean we might as well go home now and start fresh on Monday.
