'Stranger Things' fans - we have some excellent news

Stranger Things fans’ hearts will be going upside-down and flipping over already, now that we’re just over two months away from the unleashing of Season 2 of the hit Netflix show – but calm yourselves, because we have even more great news for you.

The Duffer brothers – Matt and Ross – who created the sci-fi series, have confirmed that it will definitely be getting a third season, with a fourth being a strong possibility.

In an interview with Vulture, Ross revealed: "We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out."

Matt added, "We just have to keep adjusting the story. Though I don't know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year."

Ross then joked, "They’re going to have to get the f*ck out of this town! It’s ridiculous!"

The duo then said that the second season would have a bigger scope, with a chance to “push things a bit”.

Ross said, “I told Matt, ‘I don’t want to call it Season 2, I just want it to feel like a movie sequel.' If you have a successful movie, No. 2 is always a little bit bigger."

Season 2 will hit Netflix on Halloween weekend, specifically Friday 27 October and will see the return of Winona Ryder, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery, while Goonies star Sean Astin will be arriving to bolster the cast.
