It's the movie that's had nearly as many people lined up to play the lead as there have been iPhone models.
After Christian Bale, himself a replacement for Leonardo DiCaprio, pulled out from playing Steve Jobs in the forthcoming Danny Boyle-directed biopic - apparently due to his own increasing belief that he wasn't right for the role, after initally signing up - it seems that Michael Fassbender is the next hot favourite. He has existing X-Men commitments, but sources say that these can be worked around. The casting of Seth Rogen as Jobs' Apple co-found Steve Wozniak apparently remains unaffected.
The film, based on the biography by Walter Isaacson, was originally slated to be directed by David Fincher, with a screenplay from Aaron Sorkin. Fincher then left, to be replaced by Danny Boyle, but the original screenplay is still in place.
Shooting is still planned to start before the end of the year; we wouldn't hold your breath if we were you - there could still be more changes than iOS8.
