Relax, these shoes aren't going to eat you. They merely look like they're going to eat you.
For NBA star Kyrie Irving's latest footwear collaboration with Nike, the athlete has channelled the most carnivorous planet of them all: the Venus flytrap. While we’re sure there’s some clever sporting analogy to be made, as far as we’re concerned it's all about the look.
Taking cues from the green and mango colour scheme of this sinister foliage, the Kyrie 1 Flytrap comes in a deep forest green upper underlined with some eye-catching notes of lime and mango. We even detect a hint of a smile in that raised sole.
The "Flytrap" will be available globally at Nike's website from 26 February. Until then, plant yourself at your computer and lay in wait.
Okay, so perhaps there is an analogy after all.
