Strewth mate, 'Neighbours' is going to be set in London next week

The Toadie and Dee storyline is going to hot up in Blighty

Strewth mate, 'Neighbours' is going to be set in London next week
17 March 2017

Do you remember those glory days of being a student? Rise at midday for a spot of lunch. First showing of Neighbours at 1:30pm. Second showing – to catch the subtleties – at 5:30pm. Dreamland.

Of course, even if you’re lucky enough to be able to maintain your love of Ramsay Street through your student days, as soon as the cold, hard reality of real life kicks in, and you have to start attempting to adult, it’s very difficult to keep fully up to speed on the goings-on in Erinsborough, so there’s a whole army of lapsed Neighbours fans out there in the UK.

But next week, you’re going to want to make the effort to tune back in – as they’ve only FILMED AN ENTIRE WEEK’S EPISODES IN LONDON.

And the other great thing, if you haven’t been following the storylines for a while, is shit’s about to blow in the whole ‘Dee’ and Toady story. Yes, that’s right, remember this?

And we all thought Dee was dead?

Well she’s not.

Except she is.

But Toadie thinks, in a Harold-style resurrection, that she’s come back to life.

It’s actually someone called Andrea Somers, who is pretending to be Dee in order to scam him out of cash to pay for her daughter Willow’s fight pilot tuition (yes, the storylines are as realistic as ever).

Two days ago (Wednesday), Fake Dee did a runner with Willow – and where have they gone? Yeah, you guessed it, it’s good old Blighty. So off he goes to find out just what in flamin’ hell has been going on.

Naturally, London’s landmarks will get a good airing, with Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and the London Eye all due to feature.

Neighbours' executive producer Jason Herbison commented: "It's just a small way of saying thanks to our incredible UK audience which have remained loyal since day one, and the London backdrop was perfect for the dramatic twist the Toadie, Dee and Sonya storyline is about to take."

Will it be as good as the Friends London episode? We can only hope.

Enjoy some pics of the current cast (yes, of course Dr Karl Kennedy is coming over as well) and Fake Dee, who really doesn’t look that much like Dee but then no one seemed to say anything when Lou’s wife Cheryl completely changed her face, hair colour and body for about six months, so perhaps they’re all just really unobservant.

Neighbours airs its London scenes between Monday, March 20 and Friday March 24 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5
