Melissa McCarthy didn’t understand the Ghostbusters trailer either

When there's something strange in your movie trailer, who you gunna call?

US radio station Johnjay & Rich, apparently. At least, that's what Melissa McCarthy did - adding her voice to the confused shrugs surrounding that first-look Ghostbusters trailer.

Released on 3 March 2016, the trailer introduces the new Ghostbusters cast of McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones. However, an opening text line of '30 years ago' has created a great deal of confusion for fans, and McCarthy herself.

"The trailer said 30 years later, which I didn't get myself," McCarthy told the US radio show. "Believe me, the question was asked. I was like 'I think that's very confusing,' but then everyone said 'we don't care what you think'."

While the marketing team might not care for the opinions of McCarthy, they might take the reaction of the fans a little more seriously - with the video garnering 719,519 'Thumbs down' reactions on YouTube.

Here's hoping the final film makes more sense than the trailer.
