Are there too many superheroes? NO, THE ANSWER IS THERE WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH SUPERHEROES.
Glad we got that cleared up, because it means that I can tell you today about two more - the protagonists of new Marvel series Cloak and Dagger. Not content with creating absolute stormers on telly like Daredevil and The Punisher, as well as the hugely popular Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Marvel have another banger up their sleeve.
The show focuses on two youngsters who find that they are drawn together by shared supernatural powers - one being able to control the ‘Darkforce’ and the other, the ‘light’. It looks like it’s all as a result of some dodgy government experiment (as per), and as such, the runaway teens have their heels hot thanks to whoever is chasing them.
The two confused superheroes first popped up in the comics in 1982, but it’s all been brought up-to-date in the show, so expect fidget spinners and memes galore, probably.
Anyway, enough fluff - this isn’t my belly button - here’s the trailer:
The show’s also had a nice bundle of positive reviews, too, after its showing at South by Southwest Film Festival last week, so it looks like it’ll live up to the trailer, weirdly - that almost never happens.
It airs in the US this June, so expect to see it over here soon after. Unless of course, you yourself are a superhero, and have the ability to travel through time, in which case, enjoy it tonight, I guess.
