Keegan-Michael Key celebrating Jordan Peele's Oscar win produces the night's most joyful photo

His 'Key & Peele' co-star was over the moon

Keegan-Michael Key celebrating Jordan Peele's Oscar win produces the night's most joyful photo

If you watched the Oscars last night, and probably even if you didn’t, you’ll know that everyone’s favourite human, Jordan Peele, won the Best Original Screenplay award for Get Out

He was up against The Big Sick, Lady Bird, The Shape of Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, so some stiff competition, it must be said - wasn’t a walk in the park, winning that.

Anyway, before Get Out, came Key & Peele, perhaps one of the funniest TV shows ever made (I offer no hyperbole here), which Peele and his bessie mate, Keegan-Michael Key wrote and starred in. So obviously Key was there to cheer on JP, absolutely not hiding his excitement when he won:

The above was tweeted by film director Ben Winston, but Keegan-Michael tweeted out his personal pleasure too:

That’s true support, right there, really warms the heart - especially the bit where he says ‘first’ Oscar. Key knows there’s more to come from his best pal.

There’s something truly joyful in Key’s clear, unreserved pride in his friend’s achievement. There’s no jealousy there, no holding back, he’s just full-on delighted for his best mate.

You wouldn’t see that from me, though. As soon as any of my friends do anything even remotely more successful than anything I’ve ever done, I cut them off. Not making me look like an idiot, thanks very much.

Anyway, I don’t have any friends anymore, but that’s the way I like it, for I am now the most successful person I know.

I also get no post anymore and they’ve just turned off the gas and electricity to my house. They don’t even collect my bins. The birds won’t even come into my garden. I have taken this too far. I made a mistake. Come back. Anybody. Please.
