Casting comedians to play comedians in major films is nothing new. It’s a no-brainer, in fact - a well-worn formula.
Not that reality should ape fiction. The buzz coming out of the Toronto film festival for the picture was incredible. So much so that Paramount snapped it up for a cool $12m.
