

In the middle of another summer full of sequels, remakes and comic book adaptations, a faint glimmer of hope arrives in the shape of a giant robot fighting a giant monster.
Pacific Rim is a rare thing in the warmer months: an original blockbuster. Pan's Labyrinth and Blade II director Guillermo Del Toro has been given a rumoured budget of $180 million to bring his story of humans fighting back against monsters to life and as the film is finally released, we took a moment of his time for a chat.
He talked about managing a giant budget, his thoughts on knock-off film Atlantic Rim and what we might be seeing in Pacific Rim 2.
