Most of the big music legends have had their lives turned into big prestige movies and now it's the turn of James Brown, aka The Godfather Of Soul. Get On Up, Universal's glossy biopic now has a trailer, with lots of family drama, a giant brass section and a very funky soundtrack.
Directed by Tate Taylor (The Help), Get On Up tells the story from Brown's childhood, abandoned by his mother and raised by his aunt in a brothel, through to his early days breaking every accepted rule of popular music and then on to his days as one of the biggest stars on the planet. Chadwick Boseman (42 - the film, not his age) plays Brown in a role that will likely land him on a lot of 'one to watch' lists.
Get On Up is released in the UK on August 1.
