Yet that's essentially what Vimeo contributor Mc Cool has managed to achieve. In an effort to combine his passion for tickling the ivories and smashing in Tekken faces for a project on interactive design, Mc Cool set about hacking his keyboard to act as an unlikely game controller.
Using a Midi-controller, an Arduino unit (a magical box of electricity), several metres of cabling and his Xbox 360, Mc Cool successfully created a working game pad. As the following video demonstrates, he successfully mapped various combos and moves to his keys, creating clashing notes and sounds as he took on real human opponents.
While the resulting 'Ass-Kicking Symphony' isn't satisfying on a musical level, it's a staggering achievement. Now for GTA V on a guitar?
