After cementing his status as both a respectable actor and a frustratingly handsome ladies' man, 2013 is going to be a strange year for Michael Fassbender.
This new image shows him in his new role, underneath that Frank Sidebottom head.
Now, you're going to have to stick with us on this one. The film, called Frank, stars Domhnall Gleeson (Anna Karenina) as wannabe musician Jon who joins a bunch of eccentric music types, headed up by Michael Fassbender's Frank and Maggie Gyllenhaal.
It's been written by Jon Ronson and it's not actually about Sidebottom, himself a creation of Mancunian comic and musician Chris Sievey. It's a fictionalised tale which is partly inspired by Sidebottom.
Yes, we're confused too. But hell, it's Fassbender as Sidebottom. Sort of.
