

Their more humble animal equivalents have already been dissected in many a biology class: now it's the turn of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Austrian artist Nychos has created these amazing paintings, which show the anatomical structure of the heroes in a half shell: it's alternately fascinating and harrowing.
Check out some photographs of the paintings below, along with some showing Nychos in action - and you can see them in the flesh as part of his "Street Anatomy" show, which is exhibiting at Fifty24SF Gallery and Upper Playground in San Francisco until mid-June.
More of Nychos' work is available to see at rabbiteyemovement.at; his shop is located here - he may be releasing limited prints of the dissected turtles in the near future, so be sure to keep an eye out.
