After proving that he could make coding seem sexy on the big screen, David Fincher is clearly the go-to guy for net-based biopics.

So it makes sense that The Social Network director is in early talks to take helm of the Steve Jobs biopic for Sony. It'll be based on the bestseller from Walter Isaacson and would reteam Fincher with screenwriter Aaron Sorkin.

It will also reunite him with Network producer Scott Rudin.

We've already endured one Apple flick in the shape of Jobs, a poorly received Ashton Kutcher drama that failed to impress audiences or critics, but this one has a more official seal.

Sorkin's script was recently finished and he revealed that it will actually consist of just three main events: before the unveiling of the original Mac, NeXT and the iPod, respectively.

Fincher's next film will be another adaptation, this time of the hotly anticipated thriller Gone Girl, starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. He's also just taken on a HBO remake of the Channel 4 show Utopia.
