Gogglebox is a show that should never have worked - watching other people watch telly sounds like the stupidest idea in the history of the planet. Watching tiny bits of TV shows, while someone else sits in front of them? No thanks.
But actually, yes thanks, because watch but one episode and you are hooked - this is TV at its best (but twice removed, or something). And of course, once Celebrity Gogglebox was introduced, things switched up a gear - seeing actual, real-life celebrities watching TV in their own living rooms? TO BE THE PROVERBIAL FLY ON THE PROVERBIAL WALL - WHAT A JOY.
Thing is, there’s never been a Celebrity Gogglebox with Danny Dyer on it, which is a travesty of the highest order. Almost makes you want to hoof your flatscreen off the roof, mate.
But not so fast! Because the latest special, airing as part of Stand Up To Cancer, will feature not only our favourite geeze, Mr. Dyer, but also our favourite cockney Love Island winner, his daughter, Dani! Put the telly back on the stand, no need to punt it off a ledge!
Dani wrote on Instagram:
“I absolutely love Gogglebox and couldn’t be more excited to be on it with my dad. What an experience it was!
“Stand Up To Cancer is such an amazing cause and I’m proud to have been asked to be a part of it.”
The show, which will air this Friday, will also feature Peter Crouch and Abbey Clancy, alongside the usual cast. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE.
