As a multitude of YouTube blooper reels can attest to, being a presenter - especially on live broadcasts - is not the easiest thing in the world. Expect the unexpected, and it'll probably happen.
But someone who seems to be able to deal with whatever is thrown at him is BBC sports presenter Dan Walker.
Fresh from a hen do crashing a link earlier this week, and a man 'relieving himself' in the sea behind him a few days ago, he's now had to suffer the indignity of a couple appearing to have sex on the beach just behind his right shoulder.
After eagle-eyed Twitter users had spotted the saucy goings-on, Walker was forced to address the issue, saying "we're not going to zoom in, but rest assured, it's not 'that', it's just a hug... there's a bit of... they're reading a book! Apparently they are reading a book... in a strange pose. It's merely a book. We'll find out what the book is maybe a little bit later on. We're not gonna go any closer than that though."
And then, with supreme professionalism, he continued seamlessly into an intro for live basketball.
Where, presumably, there were also some balls bouncing about.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
