These days, with more teaser trailers, official and international trailers than you can shake a stick at, the humble movie poster can be something of an afterthought.
But when made correctly, with love and attention, that single image can often end up being as loved the finished film itself. However, even then, a glorious, beautiful image is subject to the legalities and whims of the marketing department, with all their slogans, credits and cliched catchphrases to be slapped across it.
So then, this project, created by a community of fans across the internet, is more than welcome. They have carefully removed the texts and titles from a host of famous movie posters, which truly, finally, free the glorious artwork underneath to be admired on its own merits.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
