The latest Netflix sensation is not an overnight success - it's been on the service for a few weeks now. But given it's a show all about endurance, it seems fitting that it's finally fought its way to the top.

Physical: 100 is a South Korean reality series that sees 100 of the fittest folk around take on a series of physical challenges that test things like speed, strength, agility, endurance and - above all - resilience.

Think a cross between Squid Game - an unknown voice explains the challenges throughout - and the Running Man and you are close.

It's a show that's attracted a whole host of fans, thanks to its dystopian feel and the caliber of contestants Physical: 100 has. There's even an Olympic Gold medal winner taking part, competing against farmers-turned-models and double-jointed breakdancers.

It's gained some famous fans, too. One of the reasons for the increased popularity of the show might have to do with a recent live-stream from Jungkook of BTS who was watching Physical: 100, while eating his dinner.

The good thing about the show is that it isn't finished yet, either. There are currently six episodes ready to stream. In total there will be nine, with the final episodes airing weekly.

Each episode comes with its own title that's a hint of what to expect the contestants to be put through.

With names such as The Pecking Order, Lose It and You Lose and The Weight of Survival they are nice teases for the gruelling action to follow.

Check out the YouTube trailer which is a really nice taster of what to expect.

According to Flix Patrol, the show is currently trending globally at number one, with Ginny & Georgia close behind. We expect this to change next week, though, given the fourth season of You has just landed on Netflix.

  • 1. Physical: 100
  • 2. Ginny & Georgia
  • 3. La chica de nieve
  • 4. Wednesday
  • 5. Lockwood & Co.

These are the best Netflix shows you should be watching right now.
