So, no one told you life was going to be this way but… after 12 years off air, the Friends cast are finally going to reunite.

Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Joey, Chandler and Ross will be returning to our screens in a tribute to director James Burrows on NBC.

Burrows was in the directors chair for numerous episodes of the iconic sitcom will be celebrating directing his 1,000th TV programme.

David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow all made their careers in the show that ran from 1994 to 2004.

NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt told reporters that there were strong hopes to get the entire gang “in the same room at the same time”, although he did hint that there could be some obstacles due to the hectic schedules of the cast. “I’m not sure we can logistically pull it off.” Here’s hoping they definitely do and we finally find out whether this fan theory about Phoebe was true.
