The World's First 3D printed sunglasses

image (1).jpg

Just to be clear, we're not talking about 3D glasses that you wear when you go to see a film. No, we actually mean 3D printed glasses. Got that? Good.

These new sunnies have been created by product designer Ron Arad, who unveiled the design in Milan earlier this month. They are built entirely from nylon powder using selective laser sintering (SLS) technology (we may not understand everything in that sentence) and the hinges are made by scores in the material rather than from metal.

Called the Spring collection, each style is named after a station on the London Underground's Northern line, including Old Street, Kentish Town, Golders Green, Colindale, Highgate, Archway and Balham.

All frames are available in a selection of colours and the sunglasses some with tinted lenses in various shades.
