Stunning American drive-in pictures

drive-in-hero.jpg

Ever been to a drive-in cinema? Yeah, us neither. Ever really really wanted to go to a drive-in cinema? Yeah, same here.

Well, sadly it's going to become even more difficult than before. There are now under 400 drive-ins still in operation in the US (while here in the UK, they can be counted in a hand or so) but before they all die a brutal death, thanks to all of you watching films on your damn sofas, photographer Stefanie Klavens has captured their captivating decay on film to share with us all.

This set, called Vanishing Drive-Ins, is a melancholic yet richly atmospheric selection of images that makes us want to experience the drive-in even more then before. Anyone got a really big garden we can borrow?
