Presidents of The USA's Peaches Played With Peaches

peaches1.jpg

The only way this would be better, is if they got Peaches to perform it.

But until that happens, we'll have to be happy that this exists: a video of Andrew Huang and Jan Willem Kolkman performing a cover of the indie classic Peaches, originally by The Presidents of the United States of America, on an instrument made of peaches.

More specifically, they set up an interface of 24 peach halves and two slices of peach pie which, when touched, used capacitive sensing to trigger a MIDI controller which itself triggered samples in the Ableton music production system.

You can watch their rather excellent performance below, as well as a more in-depth video explaining how the interface was created.

If they give it another week they could always use the same setup to record a Moldy Peaches cover.
