You can stop scratching your head at Ben Affleck’s casting as Batman now. It’s happening. And we have a further development: Zack Snyder is to follow up Batman vs Superman with Justice League.
After the money-spinning success of The Avengers, a big screen version of DC’s answer to Marvel's superhero ensemble was just a matter of time, but Warner Bros giving the green light to Justice League this early just highlights the faith that the studio has in both script and director ahead of Batman Vs Superman.
Scripted by Will Beall and David S. Goyer, The Justice League is expected feature Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman - reportedly in talks to be getting her own spin-off movie - so expect the odd cameo when Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent finally do battle in 2016.
We're gorging on popcorn already.
