For video game geeks, The Simpsons really is the show that keeps on giving.

Not only have there been a glut of arcade games based on Springfield’s finest across the past couple of decades, but also a few on the show itself - albeit unplayable ones.

From forgettable movie tie-ins (Waterworld) and bloody beat ‘em ups (Bonestorm) to hilariously lame golf games (Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge - “You have entered POWER DRIVE”) all sorts of digital genres have been lampooned by Matt Groening and co. – and now, coming full circle, you can play some of these yourself.

Games developer GrumpyFunction has used its nous to create real life versions of Kevin Costner’s Waterworld (The Springfield Files, S8), Escape From Grandma’s House (Bart Gets An F, S2) and Larry The Looter (Radio Bart, S3), which you can either download or play online in real time if you have an updated JAVA browser.
