As the Beatles sang, you can get by with a little help from your friends. Unless, that is, they've all left you.

And in the digital world, it's very easy to sneak off unnoticed from the party, quietly abandoning your 'friend' without them even noticing. Yes - you know who you are, you unscrupulous lot.

But now there's a way to catch those devious fellows. A new program called (and they really had to think about this one) Who Deleted Me, has been launched: it's available as an app for iOS and Android or as a browser extension for Google Chrome.

It works in a similar way to the Twitter app Who Unfollowed Me, giving you a run-down of who's abandoned your sinking (friend)ship, or has left Facebook (despite their protestations, they'll be back within the week), as well as information on the last time that your friends have logged in to Facebook - so you can question why they still haven't responded to that message you sent them.

Unfortunately, there's no historical aspect, so those who have made good their escape already have avoided the firing line - for now. Until you go to send them a friendly message and they're not there. Oh well, they're going to miss out on your amazing party/pop-up/gig/satanic ritual so they're the ones who've lost out really.

At the time of writing, the app's servers are struggling somewhat with the extra traffic, but it should be running fine soon. Then you can get happily stalking.
