Will Ferrell to Star in Shakespearean Actor Comedy

The world of Shakespeare is full to bursting with farce, comedy and high jinks - and that's just in the plays themselves.

But now it seems the backstage world of the Bard is about to hit the big screen, with reports that Will Ferrell will be the lead in a new comedy based on the competitive world of Shakespearean theatre actors.

Variety reports that he will star in an as-yet-untitled film produced by Sony Pictures, playing a thespian in a theatre company. The script will be written by David Guion and Michael Handelman, and we can imagine there might be more than a touch of the snooty luvvieness of his Zoolander character Jacobim Mugatu making its way into his performance.

That's currently all for details - it'll end up being either All's Well That Ends Well, or perhaps just Much Ado About Nothing.
