So said no bigger luminary than Russian President Vladmir Putin yesterday. And, of course, Putin would have no reason to be biased towards the scandal-hit, corruption-dogged head of FIFA, so we must take his words at face value.
In coincidental news, Russia will be hosting the 2018 World Cup.
Perhaps it's unsurprising that Putin has backed his good friend Blatter, as it seems that the two are not too dissimilar characters; both clinging onto power despite almost constant criticism, although we suspect old Vlad might need to be a touch more ruthless than Sepp to keep his hands on power in a world superpower.
