You may think we're being pedantic - but Ethan Hunt seriously needs to revisit his notions of just what constitutes an "impossible" task.
With Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation yet to settle into its first weekend of screenings, Tom Cruise is already talking of the next improbable outing.
In an appearance on The Daily Show, the pint-sized star revealed that MI6 is much more than a pipe dream: "We're starting to work on it now. We'll probably start shooting it next summer," said Cruise.
If true, Cruise's schedule would push back any possible appearance in Top Gun 2, with his only other current commitments being a Jack Reacher sequel and crime thriller Mena. It would also suggest that Paramount Pictures is keen to squeeze as much from the MI as possible - breaking the franchise's precedent of leaving at least four years between titles.
Could Cruise finally be feeling the fatigue of his years? At 53, he can't have many action flicks left in him (or left in his knees at the very least). Here's hoping they put a suitably explosive send-off together for Ethan Hunt's last outing - right before the reboot the whole franchise in, oh, 2018?
