You know zoetropes, right?
You do really. Those Victorian animation machines? You spin a wheel and look through little slots in it to see a figure walking in constant motion?
Well welcome to the 21st century zoetrope - a ruddy HD wonder machine that you're going to spend 30 seconds dribbling at.
This is the creation of Akinori Goto, an entrant to this year's Spiral Independent Creators Festival (we couldn't get a ticket either) of Tokyo. Goto picked up the runner-up and audience award for this wheel of "light and wire" that depicts a dancer in motion when a beam is shone on it at the right angle.
Hypnotic, majestic, it's enough to bring a tear to our eye. That, or the AC unit is playing up again.
