Rule 34 is an old internet meme that states “If it exists, there’s a porn of it – no exceptions”.
Not even Star Wars.
Most famously erotically spoofed in Star Wars XXX, thanks to the hype around The Force Awakens, this porn parody has just enjoyed a whopping 500 per cent increase in sales since the start of December, according to adult entertainment retail site Gamelink.
Bet you didn't even think percentages went that high. Even so, while it hasn't revealed exactly how many DVDs were sold, knowing Star Wars geeks as we do, it's probably a lot.
Something of a blockbuster itself, made in 2012, Star Wars XXX (the curious can find the SFW trailer here) was described at the time as having “the highest budget ever” for an adult film.
‘We began noticing a gradual increase in sales of the title at the beginning of November, but it wasn’t until the past two weeks that purchases of Star Wars XXX really skyrocketed.’ GameLink executive Jeff Dillon told Mashable recently.
Guess that’s one way to get hyped for a film release.
