“Who is your daddy and what does he do?”
If you were Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son you’d probably say he now makes terrible films and sleeps with the maid.
However, anyone with fond memories of nineties classic Kindergarten Cop – or at least anyone who’s ever tuned into ITV4, where it seemingly plays on an endless loop – will know this to be a classic line spoken by Arnie’s Detective John Kimble in the classic comedy.
And now, despite the fact nobody asked for it, there’s a new sequel starring none other than Dolph Lundgren.
Yes, the same guy who forged a career as a cut-price Arnie is now regurgitating one of the Governator’s best loved roles, playing the MacBain-like fed who conceals himself as a teacher at one of Seattle’s most prestigious academies.
Naturally, as seen in the new trailer, there are cute kids sticking fingers up their nose, a stressed lawman who just might be a danger to children (who the hell shoots a gun at a vending machine?) and an actor whose hair says 30 but eyes say "please let me retire".
