With news that Dame Helen Mirren wants to play the baddie in Fast and the Furious 8, we’ll forgive you for thinking April Fools' has come a day early. Well it hasn’t, meaning that if it wasn't before, it’s now abundantly clear that films with implausible car chases will continue to thrive.
In fact the most incongruous of all Hollywood's racing scenes appear to have been spawned by that very same franchise.
