If Eiffel 65 taught us anything, it's that blue is pretty much the best colour ever.
So we're veering between sympathy and jealousy while looking at these pics. To celebrate the release of The Smurfs movie (voiced by Katy Perry and ShortList fan Pee-Wee Herman amongst others), some over-enthusiastic Hollywood painters decided to turn an entire village blue.
The bemused population of Juzcar in Southern Spain found their houses smurfed as a promotional stunt for the upcoming kids movie.
Let's just hope this sort of aggressive real world tampering doesn't become a standard thing. Before we know it, cities will be crushed by giant robots to promote Transformers while people will be literally bored to death to push the next Twilight torture device/film.
The Smurfs 3D will leave plenty more people feeling blue from August 10th.

As Content Director of Shortlist, Marc likes nothing more than to compile endless lists of an evening by candlelight. He started out life as a movie writer for numerous (now defunct) magazines and soon found himself online - editing a gaggle of gadget sites, including TechRadar, Digital Camera World and Tom's Guide UK. At Shortlist you'll find him mostly writing about movies and tech, so no change there then.
